***JOSEPH MARTIN (East Van Digital)

Intimate, Vancouver, BC
Fractal Forest Shambhala

I?m the guy behind East Van Digital and Fresh Baked DJs; dropping tunes since ?98 and a Shambhala resident DJ since ?04, I?ve played many a memorable set in the legendary Fractal Forest. For 3 years I hosted The Shakedown radio show and with the Liquidbeat collective, helped produce some of the B.C. interior?s most inspiring parties. Currently, I?m a resident DJ with Intimate Productions, who maintained the long running night SiGNAL Saturdays at the former Lotus Sound Lounge in Vancouver.

I play what I think is best for the moment; I?m a pretty obsessive collector of music with a deep library and a fond love of programming. Bassline. Breaks. Electro. Fidget. Funky House. Vinyl, cd?s, Ableton, Serato?I use them all. In a Fresh Baked DJs live set, you can expect to hear me remixing on the fly, triggering samples, tracks, loops and adding live synth to the mix.

My tracks & remixes have been supported by Judge Jules, Kissy Sell Out, Jim ?Shaft? Ryan, Lisa Lashes, Stereoheroes, Andru Pozztron, Smalltown DJs, Frederik Mooij, Robb G , DJ Kue, Qdup Foundation, JPod The Beat Chef, Big Dope P, Funk Hunters, Bobby Blanco, Filth & Splendour, Grant Nelson, Groove Junkies, The Incredible Melting Man (Bass Invaderz), City & Mixxxy, Wakcutt and more.

?East Van Digital bigwig Joseph Martin?s flawlessly mixed, incessantly funky 8 a.m. disco set capped off a great Friday night for some, and started others? days on a note so upbeat that no one had to buy any coffee.? ? Alan Ranta Exclaim! Review of Shambhala 2011

?Joseph Martin of Vancouver was up next and his set was AMAZING! ?Joe?s music instantly maxed out the floor. I?m guessing it wasn?t his first Bar-B-Que! My dude threw down! When Joe hit the stage I knew what it meant to be at Brat party. After his set I talked to Joey about his energy and my dude told me ?If you?re not on stage freaking out how can you expect the crowd to!? Such energy, he played an electro set and it was kill, he?s from Vancouver and that was pretty obvious, their electro scene is so far ahead of ours it?s basically a different genre. It was like electro 2.0 for me.? ? Collin Gordan Review of ?SILK? by Brat Productions

The sly virus has been rocking Vancouver’s underground hipster and art party scene since 2004 under many an absurd moniker.

The sly virus, aka s the virus, Dj Donkey Fukkher , Dj Dragon Slayer or simply Sascha Yamashita, is known for his ability to blend many different genres of music seamlessly together creating some of the craziest dance-floor killer sets Vancouver has ever heard.

Originally building his name back in the mid 90?s as a special events promoter to BC?s north, the sly virus naturally gravitated towards Dj?ing as an extension of his passion for music.

Under the name of Dj Don Mac, the sly virus established a cult following for himself as the best 80?s genre Dj; laying down fully mixed sets that had the spirit and flavor of The Loft or Paradise Garage during the eighties in its heyday.

Currently, the sly virus kills any dance floor he is given the opportunity to play for, with his unique blend of 80?s, rock, indie dance, industrial & nu disco. Watch out!
